Families & CRM
Wallets, tags, private notes, and a timeline.
A family is the billing unit (the "Mercer" family) and, increasingly, a relationship you manage. It holds the payment method, the wallet balance, one or more skaters, and a history. The Families tab is your CRM.
A family is created…
- automatically when you add a skater to ice,
- automatically when you confirm a booking request, or
- manually via Families → + Add a family.
Siblings share one family; two unrelated families with the same last name stay separate.
The family page
Families → tap a family (or Manage family →):
- Edit contact info — parent name, email, phone.
- Add skaters — siblings join in one row (name, birth year, type).
- Card on file — toggle their saved card.
- Wallet activity — the full ledger of loads and per-session deductions.
- Receipts — every payment, printable.
CRM layer: tags, notes, timeline
Families are relationships, not just invoices:
- Tags — label a family ("high intent", "needs follow-up") to segment your roster.
- Private coach notes — context only you see ("dad prefers texts", "wants competitive stream in fall").
- Timeline — a chronological history of the family: sessions, payments, recaps, and requests, the whole story in one scroll.
Archive a family
A family that stops skating? Archive them (bottom of the page — it warns if they still hold wallet credit). Archived families disappear from your lists and pickers but keep their history, and they're restored automatically the moment they book again.
Search
Once your roster grows, the Families and Players tabs get a search box.
