Payments & reconciliation
Card, e-Transfer, and one-tap collect.
Carve replaces chasing payments — without forcing anyone to change how they pay. Money comes in three ways, and each session reconciles itself.
Three ways to get paid
1. Prepaid packs (recommended)
A family's wallet is loaded up front; each session auto-deducts their share. Nothing to collect.
2. Card on file
On a family, add a card. When a session is due and the wallet can't cover it, Charge card. Real cards run through Stripe (SetupIntent to save, off-session charge to bill); without keys it's demo mode.
3. Interac e-Transfer (keep taking them)
Most Canadian hockey parents already pay by e-Transfer. Carve does the math, not the fighting:
- Settings → Business & tax: set your e-Transfer address. It's auto-included in every payment reminder — "your share is $122.50 — send an Interac e-Transfer to you@email.com."
- When the money lands in your bank, open the session and tap "Got an e-Transfer? Mark $122.50 paid ✓" on that family. The family flips to e-Transfer ✓ and a receipt exists.
- Misclick or a bounced transfer? Tap undo next to the pill — the record is removed and the share goes back to due.
For a pack paid by e-Transfer, use the e-Transfer received toggle on Packs.
Reconcile a session
On a session, each family shows Pack ✓ / Card ✓ / e-Transfer ✓ / $X due:
- Deduct from pack / Charge card when the family has coverage.
- A family with no pack and no card gets Remind as the primary action (their exact share + your e-Transfer address in the message) — no dead buttons.
- Mark paid — e-Transfer when the money arrived (undo-able).
- Collect all N families settles everyone collectable in one tap.
Where it rolls up
- The dashboard: Collected, Active packs, Outstanding.
- Unpaid & receivables: what's owed, by age.
- Earnings: counted toward your books and the GST threshold.
No-fee, no-lock-in philosophy
Carve never sits between you and the money. Cards go straight to your Stripe; e-Transfers go straight to your bank. Carve just records, splits, and chases.
