Session P&L & break-even
What each skate makes, before and after.
Every session has a profit-and-loss story: revenue (the split) minus the ice, minus card fees. Carve shows it before you book and after it runs.
Break-even preview (before you book)
While booking ice, a live preview answers "does this session make money?" as you change the inputs:
- Add/remove skaters → the split and margin update.
- Change the ice cost, fee, or capacity → the break-even point moves (how many skaters you need to clear the ice).
- You see the profit at the current roster before you commit.
This is what keeps you from booking a half-empty session that loses money on the ice.
Session P&L card (after it runs)
Open a session and the Session P&L card breaks down what it actually made:
- Revenue — total of every family's split.
- Ice cost — what you paid for the sheet.
- Fees — card processing where applicable.
- Net — what you kept.
Why per-session P&L matters
Coaching income hides in aggregates. Seeing each session's net makes the expensive rink, the under-filled slot, and the fee-eating payment method obvious — one skate at a time. The patterns across all sessions live in Profitability & economics.
