Every Carve term, defined.

The words Carve uses, and exactly what each means.

Term What it means in Carve
Coach You — the account owner. Everything is scoped to you.
Family A billing unit (the "Mercer" family). Holds the payment method and a wallet. Created automatically when you add a skater. See Families & CRM.
Skater / Player A kid you coach. Belongs to a family; siblings share one. Has a development record.
Session One skate: a rink, date/time, ice cost, your fee, and who's on it. See Sessions.
Group A standing (recurring) pod of skaters, e.g. "Sat AM Skills." Generates sessions and takes bookings. See Groups.
Split The per-family share of a session = their part of the ice + your fee. See How the split works.
Fee model Per skater (each carries your fee) or flat (one fee split across the group).
Empty-seat rule Who pays for unfilled seats: split among present (the skaters) or I cover empty seats (you).
Pack / Wallet Prepaid dollar-value credit; each session auto-deducts a family's share. See Packs & wallets.
e-Transfer Interac money you receive outside Carve; record it in one tap. See Payments.
Card on file A family's saved card, chargeable when their wallet can't cover a session.
ACSS / pre-authorized debit Interac bank debit at checkout (~1% capped fees); settles in 3–5 business days.
Recap A per-skater log for a session: skill scores, a note, and an optional clip. See Logging & recaps.
Skill / Metric A field you score 1–5 (Edges, Stride…). You define your own. See Skills.
Development plan A skater's goals, milestones, homework, and season focus. See Players.
Season report A shareable, print-friendly summary of a skater's whole season. See Season report.
Parent page A skater's private /parent/… progress page. See What parents see.
Booking page Your public /book/your-name page where parents request sessions. See Booking page.
Outstanding / floated Money owed on past sessions you haven't collected yet. See Unpaid.
P&L / break-even A session's revenue minus ice and fees; break-even = skaters needed to clear the ice. See Session P&L.
PWA The installable, offline-capable app. See Install as an app.
