Packs & wallets

Prepaid dollar-value credit that auto-deducts.

A pack is prepaid credit. A family buys one, their wallet loads with dollar-value credit, and each session auto-deducts that family's share. It's the recommended way to get paid — money up front, nothing to chase.

Why dollar-value wallets (not "sessions")

Split prices vary — 3 skaters one week, 5 the next. A wallet holds dollars, so it works no matter what a session costs. Ten "sessions" would break the moment a price changes; a $500 wallet just draws down.

Sell a pack

  1. Go to Packs.
  2. Pick a family and a pack tier.
  3. Choose Pay by card or e-Transfer received.
  4. Buy pack — the family's wallet loads.

Each future session then auto-deducts that family's share from their wallet.

Manage your tiers

Under Your pack offerings, add/edit a tier's label, the price paid, and the wallet value. Set the wallet value above the price to bake in a prepay discount ("pay $450, get $500"). Hide tiers you're not selling.

Card vs e-Transfer for packs

  • Pay by card — runs through Stripe (or demo mode without keys). Real checkout offers card and Interac pre-authorized debit (~1% capped vs ~2.9% card; debits settle in 3–5 business days, and the packs page tells the family their wallet credits when it clears).
  • e-Transfer received — a family sent you Interac for a pack? Flip the toggle; the payment records and the wallet loads with zero card fees.

See Payments & reconciliation for the details.

Demo mode

Without STRIPE_SECRET_KEY, card purchases run in demo mode and credit the wallet instantly, so you can try the whole flow before wiring up payments.

Renewals

When a wallet runs low, the Pack renewals forecast flags the family and lets you re-up in one click — before they run dry mid-session.
